Nearby Airports
For those travelling by airplane to this year’s conference, we recommend flying into Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL). Just 64 miles southwest of the conference venue, it is the closest major airport and only one that offers direct airport shuttle service to Athens.
As an alternative, you may want to consider Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP), which is about 93 miles northeast of the conference venue in neighboring South Carolina. However, there are no airport shuttle services to transport you to and from Athens from Greenville. Due to the increased distance and lack of shuttle, most travelers to Athens choose Atlanta over Greenville.
Airport Shuttles
For airport shuttle service to and from Athens, we recommend Groome Transportation. Groome has a shuttle stop right outside the door of the conference venue, making them the most convenient shuttle service for GMP conferees. Their user-friendly website makes it easy to schedule a reservations that will make your arrival and departure easy and seamless. They will pick you up outside ground transportation and drop you off at the conference venue and hotel. On your return to the airport, they will pick you up right outside the conference venue and drop you off at your airline’s terminal.
GMP attendees may choose to rent cars or use other transportation services, but we wanted to make it easy for you by recommending Groome.
Lodging
Georgia Center Hotel
The University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education & Hotel, or “Georgia Center” for short, is a full service hotel and is the site of the annual International GMP Conference. It is located on the campus of the University of Georgia just a short walk from the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy.

Alternative Options
For the convenience of our conference attendees, the Georgia Center will hold a block of rooms for the conference until 5:00 p.m. EST, February 10, 2020. After February 10, those rooms will be released. If all of the conference rooms are reserved and the Georgia Center lacks additional rooms to offer conference attendees, conference attendees may consider other lodging options (see below).
The following hotels are recommended only if a conference registrant is unable to secure a reservation at the Georgia Center, where the International GMP Conference has been held since 1976. All five of the below alternatives are in downtown Athens, just a short drive away from south campus where the conference is held.
